Dear Colleagues,

It is with great honor and excitement that I step into the role of President of the International Society for Extremophiles (ISE). This society has always been a beacon for collaboration and innovation, uniting researchers, educators, and enthusiasts dedicated to exploring life at its limits.
Extremophiles, with their extraordinary adaptations to harsh environments, above 100°C or below 0°C, pressures exceeding 50 MPa, pH values of 0 or 12, or NaCl concentrations higher than 5 M, challenge our understanding of biology and inspire advancements across diverse fields — ecology, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, and astrobiology. As I embark on this new chapter, my vision is to amplify our collective impact by fostering interdisciplinary research, nurturing the next generation of scientists, and broadening global participation in our society.
Together, we will enhance knowledge-sharing through conferences, publications, and outreach while promoting the practical applications of extremophile research. Let us continue to explore the extremes of life on Earth and inspire discoveries that shape science and society. I extend my deepest gratitude to the past Presidents and all members for your unwavering dedication.
